The inaugural class of the Town of Dryden Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), organized by the Town of Dryden Safety and Preparedness Committee, was conducted over a period of 8 weeks, from September to November 2019, at the Varna Fire Station.  Ten individuals (pictured above with two of their instructors) successfully completed the program taught by experienced instructors from New York State Police, Tompkins County Health Department, Neptune Hose Company #1 and Dryden Ambulance.  Participants have the option of joining the Town of Dryden CERT and may eventually assist in the community by offering preparedness training and supporting public safety. The next CERT basic training program will be offered in Spring 2020; more information can be obtained by emailing CERT@dryden.ny.us.
