The Town of Dryden Recreation Department:
It is the Mission of the Dryden Recreation Department to provide diverse recreational programs and leisure services which enhance the physical, social and cultural growth of all residents of Dryden, while promoting citizen involvement and a strong sense of community.
The Town of Dryden Recreation Department offers over 40 programs and events annually. The department serves residents of all ages through a wide variety of recreational opportunities-youth and adult sports, two summer music series’, summer teen programs, annual fireworks, egg hunts, Daddy-Daughter Dance, swim lessons, Red Cross certifications and more. Always go to our Forms page for a current Program Guide and registration forms. The Department also works with Town of Dryden Community Associations for program development and infrastructure improvements, government boards and commissions, community groups, and county, state and national organizations to make sure the recreational needs of Dryden’s residents are being met. The Town of Dryden Recreation Department is the lead agency for town-wide Recreation Planning and works closely with the Town Planning Department to develop and implement short and long term plans for open space, parkland, trails and outdoor facilities. The departments functions with the support of the Dryden Recreation Commission
The Tompkins County Recreation Partnership:
The Tompkins County Recreation Partnership serves youth from all over Tompkins County. Through the Partnership, kids who live in the Town of Dryden can participate in select Ithaca Youth Bureau programs and events at the same registration fee as City and Town of Ithaca residents. This serves two main functions–increased diversity of programs, and allows Dryden children who live in the Ithaca City School district to participate in programs with their peers. In 2011, the Tompkins County Recreation Partnership enters its 16th year. With ten municipalities and Tompkins County, this unique alliance is one of the largest in New York State. The Ithaca Youth Bureau Recreation Division is the program provider. The Tompkins County Youth Services Department provides planning and financial coordination. The contributions of the County and participating municipalities keep programs affordable and accessible. The Town of Dryden Recreation Director currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Recreation Partnership Board.
