Introduction to Tai Chi
In partnership with the Taoist Tai Chi Society in Ithaca, we bring an introductory level Tai-Chi Class to Dryden! This gentle form of exercise, often described as ‘meditation in motion’, can help maintain strength, flexibility, and balance, and could be the perfect activity for the rest of your life. In this low-impact, slow-motion exercise you go without pausing through a series of motions while breathing deeply and naturally. Growing evidence suggests that this mind-body practice has value in treating or preventing many health problems.

Traitorous Patriots: the Anti-Nazi Resistance
From 1933 to 1945, Germany was in the grip of the abomination known as the Nazi Party. Nevertheless, many Germans opposed Hitler and his minions in a variety of ways, from mere rejection to what became active resistance, especially during World War II. Join our three week class as we learn about the heroic actions of these people. We will observe and discuss the role of the men and women of the resistance during the war, why they took the stance they did and what became of them as a result of their actions. Learn their story and see rare World War II film footage of events that took place inside Germany. This class will be taught by Louis Eltscher, an RIT professor emeritus who also has taught at OASIS (Older Adults Seeking Intellectual Stimulation), an adult education program in Rochester.
