Recreation: American Red Cross Classes

We are pleased to offer the following classes from the American Red Cross!
Thanks to a generous grant from the Park Foundation, any child eligible for Free OR Reduced lunch will not be required to pay a registration free for the 2010 Spring programs!

Babysitting Training: The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Course will teach you everything you need to be a great babysitter. This fun, interactive course teaches first aid and safety skills so you can prevent and respond to emergencies. And, as a Red Cross-trained babysitter, you’ll gain confidence and valuable employment skills. You’ll learn how to perform first aid and get professional medical help fast, identify common safety hazards and prevent injuries, supervise children, and perform basic care routines like diapering, feeding, discipline and problem solving.
For boys and girls ages 11-16 CLASS SIZE IS LIMITED TO 10 PARTICIPANTS SO SIGN UP NOW!

“When I’m in Charge” 
This American Red Cross class provides children ages 8-11 safe options if they were to find themselves home alone for any reason. The course is targeted at enhancing self-reliance; preventing and preparing for emergencies. In addition, the course includes information on phone, gun and internet safety. This is a 2 1/2 hour class. Parents are invited to attend the last 30 minutes. Class size is limited to 15! SATURDAY, April 10, 2010 9:30-12:00, and another session from 1:00-3:30 Dryden Town Hall, $15.00
