The Dryden Youth Commission (DYC) serves as an advisory group to the Town of Dryden and the Villages of Dryden and Freeville. Members who must be at least 16 years old are appointed by each municipality: 3 from the Town and 2 from each Village. The DYC is empowered to assess the needs and priorities of Dryden youth and to develop programs to meet these needs. State, County and local funds are used to support these programs. The DYC solicits and reviews requests for funds for youth development programs and recommends programs to be operated directly by the municipalities or through contracts with qualified agencies. The DYC is also responsible for reviewing funded programs to assure they are meeting the needs of youth.
The Dryden Youth Commission meets once a month in the evening with an occasional extra meeting. Meetings are open to the public. We are especially interested in the active participation of young people.
