Dryden Recreation & Youth Commission

Established in 2014 with the combination of the Recreation Commission and the Youth Commission, the goal of the Dryden Recreation and Youth Commission is to provide a high quality of life for all town residents by assisting in facilitating opportunities to participate in healthy and satisfying recreation and leisure activities, and supporting and increasing access of town youth to programs that build skills, confidence, leadership, and supportive relationships with peers and adults.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our operations, from the programs we operate and sponsor to our staffing, volunteers, and participants. Representation and engagement from diverse and historically marginalized communities improves us as a whole and helps us to address the changing needs of our participants and their communities. We celebrate the diversity of our community and welcome all to be part of our programs and mission.

We engage in anti-racist work through education, inclusion, and participation to create a more just and equitable Dryden.

The Commission also acts as an advisory body to the Recreation Department and the Town Board, and as a liaison to the community, Dryden Central School District, the Villages of Dryden and Freeville, and Tompkins County.

Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm and are open to the public (see calendar for meeting details).

To volunteer on this commission, please fill out and submit the Volunteer Application Form.
