It is the Mission of the Dryden Recreation Department to provide diverse recreational programs and leisure services which enhance the physical, social and cultural growth of all residents of Dryden, while promoting citizen involvement and a strong sense of community.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our operations, from the programs we operate and sponsor to our staffing, volunteers, and participants. Representation and engagement from diverse and historically marginalized communities improves us as a whole and helps us to address the changing needs of our participants and their communities. We celebrate the diversity of our community and welcome all to be part of our programs and mission.
We engage in anti-racist work through education, inclusion, and participation to create a more just and equitable Dryden.
The Town of Dryden Recreation Department offers over 40 programs and events annually. The department serves residents of all ages through a wide variety of recreational opportunities for youth and adults. Please visit our FORMS page for a current Program Guide and registration forms.
The Recreation Department also works with government boards and commissions, community groups, and county, state, and national organizations to make sure the recreational needs of Dryden’s residents are being met. The Rec Department is the lead agency for town-wide recreation planning and works closely with the Town Planning Department and the Town Highway Department to develop and implement short and long term plans for open space, parkland, trails, and outdoor facilities. The departments functions with the support of the Dryden Recreation and Youth Commission.
