Taxes are mailed by the Town Clerk/Tax Collector so that you will receive them soon after January 1st. Full payments are due by January 31st without penalty. The first installment option is only available until January 31st, after that only full payments will be accepted.

Taxes are payable to Town of Dryden Receiver of Taxes until March 31.

Second installments and payments made after March 31 are  payable to Tompkins County Finance, 125 East Court St.,  Ithaca, NY 14850  Telephone: (607) 274-5545.

 If you have an escrow account, your bill will also be mailed directly to your bank.

 If you don’t have an escrow account and do not receive your tax bill by January 6 please call the Clerk’s office at (607) 844-8888, option 3 and request that another copy be sent to you.  Please remember that even if your bill is lost in the mail or you do not receive it for any reason, you still are responsible to pay it before the due date or a penalty will be charged.

Note to Seniors: If you receive Enhanced STAR or a Senior Exemption, the payment deadline for payment in full without late fees or interest, is extended by five business days.

Duties include:

  • Collects Town and County taxes.
  • Collects water and sewer payments for the special districts in the Town.
  • Receives money from Planning Department.
  • Turns money over to Town Supervisor, Tompkins County and New York State agencies monthly with reports.


Also note that you will be charged a service fee when using a credit card, debit card or e-check. This is because the Town cannot discount fees that are mandated by law nor can we increase these fees to cover the cost of accepting credit/debit cards. We have therefore contracted with a third party who will handle our credit/debit card and e-check transactions as well as guarantee that all of our over-the-counter and on-line transactions remain secure and confidential.
