New Flood Maps Coming Soon

Please be advised that the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has completed a Preliminary revised Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) for the community. Digital copies can be found on FEMA’s website: http:/hazards.fema.gov/femaportal/prelimdownload/ or at: mapping-tompkins-tompkinscounty.hub.arcgis.com (FEMA FIRMS).

Any owner or lessee of real property in the Town of Dryden who believes their property rights will be adversely affected by the proposed flood hazard determination may appeal to Town Supervisor, Jason Leifer.

Any owner or lessee of real property in the Village of Dryden who believes their property rights will be adversely affected by the proposed flood hazard determination may appeal to Village Mayor, Mike Murphy.

Any owner or lessee of real property in the Village of Freeville who believes their property rights will be adversely affected by the proposed flood hazard determination may appeal to Village Mayor, Miles McCarty.

FEMA must receive appeals within 90 days of its second published notice (on or about January 31, 2024). The sole basis for such an appeal is the possession of knowledge or information indicating that the proposed flood hazard determinations are scientifically or technically incorrect.
